BC Housing's HPO requires builders of new homes (and major renovations meeting the new-home threshold) to be licensed and provide the mandatory 2-5-10 home warranty. Renovation contractors below the new-home threshold don't require HPO licensing but should still surface: BC municipal business licence (City of Vancouver licence number or other municipal equivalent), WorkSafeBC clearance certificate, and GL insurance carrier + limits.
