Plain English version of our service agreement. Here's what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you.

Services
We provide web design, development, SEO, and website maintenance services as described on our website and agreed upon in project proposals.
Proposals and agreements
All projects begin with a written proposal or email agreement outlining scope, timeline, and pricing. Both parties must agree before work begins.
Payment terms
- Setup fees: 50% before work begins and 50% on completion (before launch)
- Monthly hosting/maintenance fees are billed on the 1st of each month
- Invoices are due within 14 days
- We accept credit card, e-transfer, and bank transfer
Timeline
Estimated delivery timelines are provided in proposals. Delays caused by client (late content, delayed feedback) may extend timelines. We communicate proactively about any delays on our end.
Revisions
A 'revision round' is a single batch of feedback, not individual changes. Submit your feedback in one consolidated message to make the most of each round.
- Starter: includes 2 revision rounds
- Professional: includes 3 revision rounds
- Custom: includes unlimited revision rounds
Content
Clients are responsible for providing text content, logos, and photos. We can guide content direction and optimize for SEO. Stock photos can be used where client photos are not available.
Intellectual property
Upon full payment, clients own their website design, code, content, and domain. We retain the right to showcase the work in our portfolio unless the client requests otherwise.
Hosting and maintenance
Monthly hosting and maintenance services continue until cancelled with 30 days written notice. Upon cancellation, we transfer all files and domain access to the client.
Cancellation
Either party can cancel a project before completion. If the client cancels, payment is due for work completed to date. If we cancel, we refund any payment for work not yet completed.
Free Homepage Design offer
We offer a complimentary, no-obligation homepage design (the "Free Homepage") to qualified small-business prospects. The Free Homepage is delivered as static visual mockups for review purposes only — it is not a hosted, working website.
- Eligibility: one Free Homepage per business. We reserve the right to decline requests at our sole discretion (e.g. competing agencies, prohibited industries, or clearly unserious enquiries).
- Turnaround: typically 48 business hours after we receive enough information to design. Delays caused by missing information from you may extend this.
- Ownership: visual mockups remain the intellectual property of Elevate Web Design until a paid project is signed. If you proceed with us, ownership of the final delivered website transfers to you upon full payment, per the Intellectual Property section above.
- No obligation: you are not required to purchase anything to receive the Free Homepage. We will follow up by email and/or phone using the contact details you provide; you can opt out at any time.
- Use restrictions: you may not republish, resell, or hand the mockups to another agency to build from. Doing so terminates the offer and any related discussion.
Liability
Our liability is limited to the total fees paid for the specific project. We are not liable for lost revenue, data, or business opportunities arising from website downtime, design decisions, or third-party service failures.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada.
