Toronto Roofer Local Pack Audit (2026)

We audited 8 unique Toronto roofing company websites ranking in the top organic results for "roofing company Toronto / roof replacement." We focused on the trust signals that actually move quote-to-close on $8k–$25k residential jobs: WSIB clearance, manufacturer certification, warranty depth, financing, insurance-claim assistance, and pricing transparency.

Methodology

  • · Query: "roofing company Toronto roof replacement", country=CA, lang=en, top 14 organic.
  • · Excluded: Reddit, Yelp, HomeStars, BBB, Houzz, Google Maps, Facebook, Kijiji.
  • · Tooling: Firecrawl v2 scrape (markdown, main-content only) + regex pattern detection.
  • · Compliance reference: WSIA (Workplace Safety & Insurance Act, 1997), OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act), Skilled Trades Ontario certification rules, and Ontario Consumer Protection Act 2002 (cooling-off rights on direct sales over $50).

Regulatory references

  • Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, 1997 (WSIA). Roofing is a Schedule 1 mandatory-coverage trade. Homeowners hiring an uncovered roofer can become personally liable for site injuries. WSIB clearance certificates should be displayable on demand.
  • Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA). Working at heights training is mandatory under O. Reg. 297/13 for residential roofers. Sites that name their training provider build significant trust on storm-season and emergency searches.
  • Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002, s. 43. Direct (door-to-door / in-home) sales contracts over $50 trigger a 10-day cooling-off period. Roofers selling at the curb after a hailstorm must disclose this; web pages targeting storm-damage searches should reference it.
  • Skilled Trades Ontario. Roofing is a voluntary trade in Ontario (Code 449A). Companies employing certified roofers should reference it; absence of mention isn't disqualifying but its presence is differentiating.

How we apply this

Every Toronto roofer site we ship surfaces WSIB clearance, manufacturer certification (GAF, IKO, Owens Corning, BP, etc.), warranty depth (material vs. workmanship, transferability, exclusions), financing partner (Financeit, Snap, etc.), and insurance-claim handling. We treat the warranty page as a primary conversion asset, not a footer link.
